Valentine’s Day is tomorrow! It’s time to find the perfect dining spot to impress their special someone. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening with your long-term partner or hoping to make a great first impression, Lancaster’s diverse culinary scene has something for every couple and budget. Here’s your guide to the city’s most romantic restaurants, all within campus reach.

Belvedere Inn: Classic Romance

Set in a beautiful Victorian mansion on North Queen Street, the Belvedere Inn sets up the perfect scene for a special evening out. Soft lighting blends with live jazz music, while the classic decor makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Don’t miss their perfectly cooked duck breast and the famous crab cakes – they’re pricey but worth it. Start your night with amazing cocktails at the upstairs bar. Here’s a tip: Ask for a table by the fireplace in the main dining room for the most romantic spot in the house.

Citronnelle: French-Inspired Elegance

Looking for a taste of Paris right here in Lancaster? Citronnelle brings you just that, with a cozy spot that serves French food with flavors from around the world. Chef Rafael Perez keeps things exciting with a menu that changes often, offering special dishes like seafood stew with saffron and slow-cooked duck that melts in your mouth. The warm, welcoming space makes you want to take your time and enjoy every bite. Best part? It’s an easy walk from campus on West Orange Street.

Himalayan Curry & Grill: Spice Things Up

Looking for something more adventurous? This hidden gem on North Prince Street offers a unique date night experience with its flavorful Nepalese and Indian cuisine. The warm atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonable prices make it perfect for students. Share some momos (Nepalese dumplings) and butter chicken while getting to know each other better. Bonus: They’re very accommodating to vegetarian and vegan diners.

Cabalar Meat Co.: For the Foodies

This boutique butcher shop turned restaurant offers an intimate dining experience perfect for couples who love food and trying new things. Their chef’s tasting menu changes regularly based on seasonal ingredients, and the open kitchen concept adds excitement to your evening. Though slightly pricier than casual dining, it’s worth saving up for a special occasion.

Cork & Cap Restaurant: Historic Charm

Situated in the Cork Factory Hotel, this restaurant combines industrial chic with a romantic ambiance. The exposed brick walls and vintage decor create a unique atmosphere, while the menu features upscale American cuisine with local ingredients. Their prix fixe Valentine’s menu is especially popular among students looking for a complete dining experience.

Prince Street Cafe: Budget-Friendly Alternative

On a budget but still want to plan a nice date? Prince Street Cafe is your perfect spot. This cozy cafe won’t empty your wallet but still has plenty of charm. Their dinner menu has tasty sandwiches, fresh salads,  smaller sharing plates, along with great coffee and delicious desserts. The relaxed setting helps calm those first-date nerves, and since it’s right in the heart of downtown Lancaster, you can easily turn your meal into a nice evening walk through the city.
