Searching for a spooky book to read this October? Look no further than Holly Jackson’s newest YA crime thriller, The Reappearance of Rachel Price. Published this past April, the author of the bestselling book trilogy (and newly adapted for television) A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder delivers yet another fast-paced page-turner.

When 18-year-old Bel Price’s family signs up to participate in a true-crime documentary about the disappearance of her mother Rachel sixteen years ago, they never expect what’s to come. With their lives being poked and prodded and turmoil stirred up within the family, the documentary is not off to a good start. Another wrench is thrown in the mix when, as the title of the book suggests, Rachel Price reappears – the story of what happened to her while she was gone in hand. However, Bel isn’t quite convinced.

With a documentary crew as her backup, she begins investigating to get the real story, leading to shocking truths and long-buried secrets being revealed. What Bel doesn’t know is the real danger she’s in by asking questions and doubting what she thought she knew. Will Bel learn the truth? If she does, will she survive it?

The book pairs perfectly with the Halloween season ahead and is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat and staying up late to finish it. Happy reading!
